Detainee visits & bail

Bail and visits for Immigration Detainees

In the United Kingdom, immigration detainment is when you are being held in an immigration detention centre before you receive permission to enter the country or before you are expelled.

If your visa has been terminated and you have remained the United Kingdom without making an application for a new visa, the Home Office will consider you in breach of British immigration laws and legal action will be taken. It is important to have the correct legal guidance and support in the event this happens.

Our immigration specialised legal advisors will give you all the help and support you need, including arranging family visits, helping you plan and prepare for the immigration process and helping make arrangements for bail. ASL will fully facilitate for you to receive visits from loved ones and legal advisors while being detained. Call our 24-hour line on 07872504002.

Am I at risk of immigration detention?

Anybody subject to review by immigration control can be detained at an immigration removal centre.

You are at immediate risk of the Home Office detaining you if you have not got adequate identification, you are soon expected to be removed from the country or if you have raised suspicion of some kind, such as threatening to plan an escape. It is imperative that you seek legal advice immediately if you are at this stage.

If you are currently subject to immigration control and assessment has not been completed, you are at risk of being detained. If you are a foreign national and you have illegally entered the United Kingdom, or you have illegally overstayed according to your visa, you may also be detained. You may also be detained if you have previously received leave to enter status and have not adhered to the conditions set.

It is recommended that if there are any doubts or hesitations about immigration detention that you contact legal professionals. ASL are immigration focused solicitors and are more than happy to support you. Call our 24-hour line on 07872504002.
