Appeals process

If you are unhappy with a judge’s decision, ASL can help you to appeal against it to a judge in a higher court, the Upper Tribunal or the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

We are experts in appealing a wide variety of decisions, from immigration law (entry clearance, further leave to remain or settlement) to employment law (dismissal, discrimination claims, etc.) and personal injury cases (such as slips trips and falls, holiday injuries and illness).

For Appeals, there must be proper grounds for making an appeal, and there are strict time limits for doing so. However, it is not possible for court staff or other government officials to review a judgement made by the courts. This is because the judiciary are independent and must be free to rule on cases without fear of interference from the government or its administration.

Although HMCTS court staff will be happy to offer procedural guidance, they are not permitted or trained to give legal advice or discuss whether you can or should appeal. For legal assistance, contact us on 01706 711 176 and we will be more than happy to help.
